Helen is one of my “bestest friends in the whole wide world”, and has recently jetted off to Vancouver with her brilliant man, Red. Here she is looking terribly chic and making me terribly jealous.

Red is blogging away here on Tumblr about their experiences as they travel through Europe, and the joys and challenges they face as they take his wheelchair on the road – which is incredibly inspirational, not just for the disabled community.

You can follow Red’s Tumblr blog, or check out his disability news blog, Walking is Overrated.

A few summers ago, I developed a habit of sleeping in the yards of strangers.

From “Bedfellows” by Amanda McCarty featured on Storychord.com.

Storychord makes a post every second Monday featuring a story, an image, and a song – each from a talented but underexposed artist.

I bother to read less and less online now, scrolling quickly and skimming for main points and pretty pictures instead. This story grabbed me though, and now I really want to go lie on some grass. There is some sweet grass in Wellington, maybe I’ll go lie on it again when I visit next month.

Read the full Bedfellows story, check out it’s accompanying photo, and listen to the super cute track “Bonfires” by Rosie and Me over on Storychord.
