So, it turns out it’s worth going back and revisiting photos you’ve taken and previously dismissed. This is from The Mountain Goats playing the Kings Arms in April – always worth going to see John Darnielle.

I like to give presents. The best ones are those I’d want for myself. I managed to find something for a three year old girl which I want myself, and decorate it in a manner I’d be thrilled to receive – purple pink and shiny! (The gift is a pink My Little Pony…)

Helen is one of my “bestest friends in the whole wide world”, and has recently jetted off to Vancouver with her brilliant man, Red. Here she is looking terribly chic and making me terribly jealous. Red is blogging away here on Tumblr about their experiences as they travel through Europe, and the joys and challenges … Continue reading “”

A few summers ago, I developed a habit of sleeping in the yards of strangers. From “Bedfellows” by Amanda McCarty featured on Storychord.com. Storychord makes a post every second Monday featuring a story, an image, and a song – each from a talented but underexposed artist. So I went on a searching spree to find out who shot the image, and though I haven’t found definitive evidence, Jason Nocito’s promo photos … Continue reading “”

Beautiful! She looks almost like she’s standing up against a gorgeous poster backdrop. sneak: The colour work in this series of photographs by Ibai Acevedo is amazing. There is an interesting ‘flatness’ that makes them seem almost like paintings.

Love the different brickworks, the reflections in the windows, and how the footpath looks so clean. I can’t imagine stepping out my front door and being on the street. luanamagalhaes.net, via medformat

Just got back from the Vampire Weekend show at the Bruce Mason Center, I loved it! Hadn’t been to a gig there before, only seated shows, but it was a great venue for it, tonnes of people. We had a laugh making fun of hipsters (realising all the while that we looked just the same), … Continue reading “”

Twitter’s Hottest Home Baker is a project conjured up over sashimi one lunch break. We were dissatisfied with the cupcake making on a television baking competition, and thought it would be great to compete with all of Twitter. Priya took this little concept, and ran with it. Very far. There’s a random mystery theme, a … Continue reading “”
