John Maloof presents Vivian Maier’s Chicago street photography. He purchased hundreds of rolls of undeveloped film at an auction and is developing and publishing them. I love this picture – the gentleman’s frayed sleeves, and in particular his hands. The theatre in the background. Black and white is lovely.

I really like this She & Him poster by Jason Munn. It’s available for the buying too…

Nice leather, not too heavy. Cream-white acid free pages of a nice stock for writing – not sure what … Continue reading “”

This would be incredible. Coachella in California this year, so many bands I love in the lineup. Pleasantly surprised to see The Middle East on there. Will have to make do with Laneway Festival tomorrow instead, still gutted that The Middle East are playing only the Australian shows.

I’m procrastinating. Found some nice old pictures on my external hard drive, I’m glad I’ve kept every single photo. Uploaded a bunch to Flickr. Pictures I thought were terrible back then, actually have turned out to be quite awesome after a bit of time. I guess now the memory has faded the pictures help to … Continue reading “”

The Dodos on Letterman 08/01/10 playing “Fables” from 2009 album, Time To Die. This clip has nothing on the live performance, I’m tempted to drive an hour to see their last NZ show tonight.

Aya Kato’s work is gorgeous. I love the flowing lines and intricate detail, the bold shapes contrasted with delicate shades and delicious colour palettes. Observing any one point in some of her pieces is difficult because there is so much more to see, and each element is woven into another. This artwork was created for … Continue reading “”

Audio Yeap. They were pretty good here in Auckland last night, though the Montecristo room as a venue leaves much to be desired. Hope the Wellington show tonight is glorious! Camera Obscura – “Lloyd, I’m Ready to be Heartbroken” via catnipforhipsters

Audio French Navy by Camera Obscura from My Maudlin Career (2009). Just bought myself a ticket to see them play tomorrow.
